Building An Anti-Racist Educator Network
Context
After securing a multi-million dollar grant to create a national network of schools to serve and support educators of Black and Latinx students, an educational non-profit sought to transform their work and organization to anchor anti-racism as its core belief and practice.
Our Work
We helped a non-profit create organizational equity through an iterative anti-racist learning lab.
Through research, data collection + evaluation, stakeholder engagement, listening + storytelling, and professional development, we designed and facilitated an iterative learning lab to ideate and organize an anti-racist transformation for an educational non-profit and its national network of educators. Ultimately, this work supported an accelerated pathway to help the non-profit achieve short and long term equity goals.
The Impact
Disrupted a single narrative of “diversity” premised on white dominant culture as most efficient and productive. This led to increase representation of individuals from diverse racial backgrounds in leadership roles
Seeded partnerships and structures needed to up-skill and invigorate educators around creating culturally responsive and inclusive learning environments and school cultures in public schools across the nation
Designed an organizational system to account for gaps and transform culture to accelerate equity goals
